Mr. Racer
Music Producer
A Nashville based musician and producer needed a brand for his producer moniker that could be used for music that he worked on that didn’t fall under his main brand and stage name. The client explained the aesthetic and look he was after was inspired by a vintage racer and car enthusiast. With that prompt I quickly got to work to create a brand that matched the level of skill and art he puts into his music.
The Inspiration
With the direction the client provided I curated and distilled a board of images for us to reference as we created the brand.
The Logo
The client liked the symbol of the vintage helmet that showed up in the mood board and we both knew we just had to use that as the main logo-mark
The Typeface
I went with a typeface that felt like it could be painted on the side of an old tire shop. We modified it slightly to make it more symmetrical and balanced.
The Color Palette
The color red seemed to be a theme in conversation and that mirrored the mood board so these hues were selected as the brand’s colors.
Logo Lockups
The client needed the brand to scale from a very small size all the way up to stage sized displays so these variations were developed to let the brand scale with the clients needs.
